We are excited to help you begin your application process. Whether you are focused on a specific career area now or still exploring your options, our four schools will prepare you for a rewarding career, college, trade school, or apprenticeship after graduation. Applying to NCCVT for 9th Grade (2025-2026 School Year)
- Application Period: The online application portal opens November 4, 2024 and closes January 8, 2025.
- Who Can Apply:
- 8th-grade students living in the Appoquinimink, Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, and Red Clay School Districts in New Castle County are eligible to apply.
- Students must be registered in a Delaware public school before completing the School Choice application. If registering in a public school for the first time, click here to complete the Delaware standard registration form after October 15. Note: Registration can take several days to process in the State's system.
- Application Requirements:
- Completed online application with your child's legal name as listed on current school enrollment.
- An active email address for application notifications.
- Final 7th-grade report card and most recent 8th-grade report card, including attendance (progress reports or interim report cards are not accepted).
- Discipline records for 2023-2024 and Current School Year. Please submit one of the following options:
- A printed discipline report from the school’s computer system (e.g., eSchool).
- A letter on official school letterhead detailing any suspensions, detentions, or confirmation of no incidents.
- A completed Student Data Sheet.
- Be sure to include school and career program preferences.
- Important: Only complete applications will be considered. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be processed. You will receive an email if your application is incomplete—please address any errors before the January 8 deadline to ensure primary consideration.
After the Application
- Primary Consideration: Applications submitted by January 8, 2025, will receive primary consideration. While applications can still be submitted after this date, they will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Notification: Families will be notified via email by the first week of March 2025. Find more information here.
- Placement: NCCVT strives to place eligible applicants in their first-choice school and career program. If space is unavailable, students may be offered an assignment in one of their lower-ranked choices.
